Namine: AlmostI knew it was wrong, but I didn’t have a lot of time to learn entirely why. I’d been slapped, but there was only the ghost of the sting that I could almost feel; like someone remembering the way it feels to be hurt that way, but not quite really feeling the memory. It’s like this complicated little piece of something that used to be real that you could taste and touch and feel like you were really alive. I wanted more than anything to feel something like that when they locked me away. It wasn’t cold there, it was just the absence of everything that made it feel so cold… almost! Summer, Vanilla, and KairiWe were huddled together behind that abandoned coffee shop as we cried. I’m not exactly sure why we did, but I was imagining, at the time, how incredibly sweet that coffee shop would smell if it was still working. Creamy vanilla, sweet steam bubbling out from the bottom of that paper cup. I could die for something like that. If I had any real money, I’d wait for the summer. I’d wait for that unbearably hot, spicy day where little children wore tank tops and sandals and begged for snow cones. I’d go into that coffee shop and get a cold, creamy, vanilla drink.
